Photographical translation of La Danse macabre by the composer Camille Saint-Saëns.
The “danse macabre” or dance of death is an artistic concepts which dates back to the Middle Ages. It is similar to the Memento Mori and others Vanitas. Death brings together the living in her danse, with no distinction between class, age, gender.
Inspired by the musical piece, we created a triptych which resonates with 3 topics approached by Saint-Saëns.
Flute, danse, joy and life
Violins, melancholia, death
Dramatic, dark melody
“Prose des Morts”, Doomsday
