DIALOG

Pictures are from Jules Delorge.

DIALOG is an interactive and immersive installation, which invites the participants to think about language, meaning and multiplicity.

2 telephone receivers are set on both extremities of the room, linked by a line of several plexiglass layers. Two participants can talk through the phones. The discussion is analyzed by a speech recognition algorithm which translates some components (frequency, number of characters, amplitude) into visuals projected on the plexiglass sheets. The algorithm is also trained to recognize which emotion might be embedded in the messages, tinting the visuals with particular colors depending of the emotion detected.

The installation was created in 2018 by the art collective PRISME, founded in Université du Québec en Abitibi Témiscamingue.
